Rates

I charge clients an HOURLY rate:

  • AU$75  for Australian clients (exl 10% GST)
  • If you’re outside Australia, use the Australian Dollar Converter (left) to view my rate per hour in your currency—
    • Click the ‘To’ radio button
    • Select your currency from the drop down.

To know roughly how many hours your copy will take me, I require the following from you:

  • The purpose of your copy? (for the web, newspaper, magazine, newsletter, etc)?
  • Do you need me to edit or proof-read the document?
  • If it’s for on-line purposes does the copy need a revamp or do you need fresh content?
  • When do you need it by?
  • How many pages/words/web pages do you require?
  • Do you have a list of key words you’d like to include?
  • Would I be required to travel to source the content – e.g. face-to-face interview?
  • Do I need to work with your graphic designer and/or technical web designer?
  • Name/s and contact detail/s of people and other material or sources required to gather the appropriate information for the story or content.

Quote

Once I’ve established the intention of your copy and understood what’s required to pull it together, I will email you my Statement of Work which will include:

  • Agreed number of words and pages required
  • Estimated hours it will take me to complete
  • Quote in Australian Dollars (US$ or € equivalent at spot rate on the date of the quote)
  • Terms and Conditions

Agreement to proceed

By signing my quotation based on the statement of work, you will agree to the Terms and Conditions as well as Terms of Payment. If your company policy is to issue a supplier with a formal Purchase Order, then I will need to receive this before proceeding with the project.

Invoicing and Payment

Upfront payment of 50% payable within 7 days of your signing the Quotation. An invoice for the 50% will be issued to you or your contact within your organisation prior to my commencing the project. Once funds are deposited into my bank account, I will start working on your copy.

Final payment on completion of the work for the remaining 50% is payable within 7 days, based on my final invoice I send to you.

Payment for Australian clients can be made via direct transfer into my bank account or using PayPal.

For clients outside Australia, I accept payments via PayPal or international money transfer (TT) into my Australian bank account.

Review

I will email you my first draft for your review in Microsoft Word (.docx) format. This document will track all changes you propose. Do not under estimate the time required to thoroughly review the draft version. Please factor in some quality time to go through it.
