I have written for a number of corporate in-house magazines—both hard copy and online(e.g. Blue Care’s Blue Print in-house staff and volunteer magazine). Writing for in-house magazines has taught me to write short, concise copy with the appropriate tone. Companies want their workforce to view their organisation in a favourable light.
Short, conversational copy ensures your content is readable and time-poor staff, clients and potential customers are more inclined to read it. If it’s too long and complicated, it will simply be discarded.
In short, you will waste your precious time faithfully compiling a regular newsletter or in-house magazine unless it captures your audience.
This is not conveyed if the newsletter is written in a dull, verbose way. Countless newsletters are sent out at huge expense by companies and yours has to stand out in order to be read. I can compile stories, conduct interviews and create engaging and informative articles that flow well and help make your magazine or newsletter a pleasure to read.
